What makes a record valuable
- 01Completeness and rightsAn unbroken record you clearly own is worth more. Closed firms often qualify for higher offers for this reason.20% of value
- 02Domain scarcitySpecialized fields with little public data, such as tooling, assay development or materials characterization, command a premium.20% of value
- 03Depth of historyYears of records and how many people contributed to them. Ten years of a twenty-person team beats a single big project.30% of value
- 04Reasoning capturedChange orders, review threads, protocol revisions, failed experiments and stop or continue decisions. The thinking between files is what models cannot get elsewhere.30% of value
Who we work with
Get an estimateWhat is your archive worth?
Nine questions, about two minutes.
Which best describes your role?
What kind of records are they?
Each field has its own valuable records.
Which best describes the company?
Which best describes the company?
Where is the company today?
Closed and winding-down firms often have the most complete records.
How many years of records are there?
History is one of the biggest drivers of value.
How many engineers contributed to the records?
Over the whole history, not just today. A rough count is fine.
How many scientists contributed to the records?
Over the whole history, not just today. A rough count is fine.
Which records do you hold?

Are the records yours to license?
Assume everything is anonymized first. This is about ownership, not privacy.

Indicative only. Offers depend on a sample review, rights and anonymization. No commitment.

How is my data protected?
Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, client, sponsor and project names, signatures and file authorship metadata are removed automatically. A specialist who knows your field then checks every dataset for what patterns miss, like a client name inside a part number. Files are encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest, with keys managed per client. Each client is processed in a separate environment, every read is logged, and you can request the access log at any time.
What records can I license?
Native CAD files, PDM vaults, engineering change orders, drawings, FEA and CFD studies, and RFIs. The change history matters most: change orders and review threads show why a design changed, and that reasoning is what models cannot get anywhere else.
Does my firm qualify?
Generally, you need at least one year of operations, ten or more employees at some point, earned revenue, and clear rights to the records. We work with mechanical and product design, architecture and BIM, tooling and manufacturing, civil and structural, aerospace and automotive suppliers, and energy and controls firms. Operating, winding down and closed firms can all qualify.
How is my archive valued?
By depth of history, the reasoning captured in change orders and design reviews, how scarce your specialty is, and how complete the record is and how clearly you own it. A sample review turns your estimate into a written offer. Try the estimator.
Can I leave out client projects?
Yes. You choose the systems, folders and date ranges, and you can exclude any project, client or record. You review the anonymized dataset before it is approved.
Do you accept ITAR or export-controlled drawings?
No. We do not accept ITAR or EAR controlled technical data. If part of your archive is controlled, we will tell you early and work only with what can be used.
Who owns my data?
You do. We license specific usage rights defined in your agreement. You keep ownership of the records and can continue to use them however you like.
How do AI labs use the data?
Three ways. As reasoning examples that show step by step how an expert reached a decision. As evaluations: hard, graded tasks drawn from real work that measure whether a model can do the job. And as practice environments, simulated workspaces built from real tickets and files where models learn multi-step technical work.
What if I want to stop?
You can stop at any point before signing. We halt processing, delete everything you shared and confirm the deletion in writing.
