Referral program terms.
Effective October 16, 2026
These terms explain how the Lunchbreak referral program works: who can take part, which referrals count, what you earn and when you are paid. They form an agreement between you and Lunchbreak (“Lunchbreak”, “we”). You accept them when you join the program from your referral dashboard. In short: refer a company with valuable data, and if it signs its first data deal with Lunchbreak within 12 months, you earn 10% of that deal, up to $100,000, payable 30 days after signing and paid in our monthly payout.
1. Who can take part
You must be at least 18, able to enter a binding agreement, and sign in with an email address you control. You may take part as an individual or on behalf of a business you are authorized to represent. Lunchbreak employees and contractors are not eligible, except for experts engaged on paid projects, who may refer businesses. You cannot take part from a country or region where Lunchbreak or our payment provider cannot operate or make payments. Each person may hold one partner account. We may decline or close any application to join.
2. How to refer a company
You can refer a business in one of two ways:
- Introduce it directly with the Refer a company form on your dashboard. The referral date is the day you submit it.
- Share your referral link. Someone from the company opens your link and requests a valuation. The company is your referral if they go from your link to the valuation form, if they give your email address in the form’s “Referred by” field, or, if they allowed advertising cookies, if they request it in the same browser within 90 days of opening your link. If they give only your name, we credit you where we can match it to you. The referral date is the day of the request.
When you introduce a company, the person you name must know you are introducing them and have agreed to hear from Lunchbreak. Give only accurate details they are happy for us to have, and nothing confidential about their business. We contact them about selling data to Lunchbreak and nothing else.
3. Which referrals qualify
A referral qualifies only if all of the following are true:
- Nobody referred the same company before you. Each company can be referred once, and the first valid referral is credited.
- The company was not already in contact with Lunchbreak. That means it had not requested a valuation, been in active discussions with us, or had an open or completed deal with us in the 12 months before your referral date.
- You have no undisclosed relationship with the company (see section 7).
- The referral follows these terms.
We check referrals against our records automatically and may review them by hand. We decide in good faith whether a referral qualifies, and we tell you if it does not. Referring a company does not oblige Lunchbreak to contact it, assess it or buy anything, and does not oblige the company to sell.
4. What you earn
A qualifying referral earns a reward if Lunchbreak signs its first data purchase agreement with the referred company within 12 months of the referral date. The reward is 10% of that agreement’s value, up to $100,000 per company. The agreement’s value is the fixed purchase price stated in it when it is signed, in US dollars, excluding taxes, and excluding any amount that depends on a later event, such as a bonus for future deliveries.
The reward is earned once per company, on the first agreement only. Renewals, extensions and later agreements with the same company earn nothing more. Referrals that do not lead to a signed agreement within 12 months earn nothing. The reward cannot be shared between partners.
5. When and how you are paid
The reward is recorded when the agreement is signed and appears on your dashboard as pending. It becomes payable 30 days later, provided the agreement has not been cancelled. We pay rewards once a month: a reward that has become payable is paid in the first seven days of the following month, and your dashboard shows the expected date for each one. Payments are made in US dollars through Stripe Connect. Set up your Stripe account from your Lunchbreak dashboard and provide the identity, bank and tax information Stripe requires. US payout accounts are supported during the pilot. A reward that is payable before your payout account is complete is paid in the first monthly payout after you complete it, and is not forfeited. Your bank or payment provider may take a few business days to show the payment. You are responsible for any taxes on your rewards.
If the agreement is cancelled, rescinded or refunded before the reward is paid, the reward is cancelled. If that happens within 90 days after the reward is paid, we may recover the reward, or the share matching the amount refunded, by deducting it from later rewards or by asking you to repay it.
6. How you may promote Lunchbreak
Describe Lunchbreak accurately, and do not promise any company that it will be accepted, assessed, offered a deal or paid a particular price. Do not present yourself as an employee, agent or recruiter for Lunchbreak. Do not send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, bid on Lunchbreak’s name in search advertising, or use our name or logo in ways that suggest endorsement. Do not offer referred companies any part of your reward or other inducement to sign up through you.
7. Prohibited referrals
You may not refer yourself, a company you own, work for or advise, or a company in which you or a close family member has a financial interest, unless you tell us about the relationship in writing before the referral and we agree. Fake, duplicate, automated or misleading referrals, and referrals made with someone else’s details without their permission, are not allowed. We may withhold, cancel or recover rewards for referrals that break these terms, and may close your partner account.
8. Your information and your contacts’ information
We handle partner and contact information as described in our privacy notice, including through Stripe, which runs the program and payouts, and Attio, our customer relationship system. Your dashboard shows companies you introduced by name, and people who arrived through your link only as a partly hidden email address. You must not share information about a referred company or its contact with others, except as needed to make the introduction.
9. Our relationship
You take part as an independent participant. These terms do not make you an employee, agent, partner or joint venturer of Lunchbreak, and you cannot make commitments on our behalf. You pay your own costs of taking part.
10. Changes and ending the program
We may change these terms, the reward or the program, or end it. We will tell you by email or on your dashboard at least 30 days before a change that reduces rewards takes effect. A change never applies to a referral made before it takes effect. You may leave at any time. If you leave, or we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, rewards for qualifying referrals still become payable under sections 4 and 5.
11. Limits on liability
The program, dashboard and referral links are provided as they are. We do not guarantee that every click or referral will be tracked, for example where a visitor leaves our site and comes back without your link, and our records decide attribution. To the extent the law allows, Lunchbreak’s total liability to you under the program is limited to the rewards that are due to you and unpaid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. General
These terms, together with the privacy notice, are the whole agreement about the program. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your partner account or rewards to someone else. These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the operator is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any legal claim, both sides will first try in good faith to resolve the issue by contacting each other.
